All of the leathers we use are certified tanneries of the Leather Working Group, a global multi-stakeholder community committed to building a sustainable future with responsible leather through enforcing best practices and positive social and environmental change for responsible leather production.

The Chrome-free leather is free of the use of hexavalent chrome (chromium VI (Cr VI)) during the tanning process.75% of the leather in the world uses tanning methods that use hexavelant chrome, and some studies show that this substance could be carcinogenic and eventually winds up in waste streams, putting a strain on the environment.  Through new and innovative methods, beautiful and durable leathers can be produced without these toxic substances. Chrome free leather is a more circular and biodegradable material, meaning less pollution, cleaner waste streams, and a better solution for skins that are a by-product of the meat industry.
